Italian borrowing in the Russian language: functional and semantic aspects
This research is devoted to study of lexical borrowing from the Italian language and the development of the system of the Russian language.
The object of research is borrowing from the Italian (without regard to the time of their displacement in the Russian language), and the subject is the penetration of borrowed lexemes, their development and functioning of the Russian language.
The author attempts to select Italianisms in the Russian language and consider in terms of semantic borrowing from the Italian language.
Source of language material are formed the dictionary of foreign words, dictionaries of the Russian language, and Italian dictionaries, and as a source of illustrative material used data from the Russian National Corpus [www.ruscorpora.ru].
The author used a complex of methods and techniques of linguistic analysis. Basic methods are such methods as contrastive, contextual analysis and definitional. Additional methods and techniques - continuous sampling, component analysis and comparative benchmarking, which is a kind of narrative.
The practical value of research is that conclusions can be useful for the theory and practice of translation. Materials of research can be used to develop theoretical and practical training in the course of lexicology pf modern Russian language, as well as in the field of lexicography (when creating monolingual dictionary borrowing).
