The specifics of preparing future educators for working in a dynamic multicultural environment of the region: Russia’s pivot to the East

Introduction. This article examines the search for comprehensive scientific and pedagogical knowledge regarding the specifics of preparing education university students for working in dynamic multicultural environment of the region, which has led to weakening the Eurocentric vector and strengthening the Eastern vector.
The purpose of this study is to identify the specifics of preparing future teachers for working in the region’s new dynamic multicultural environment based on a foresight forecast of the trend characterized by strengthening the Eastern vector.
Materials and Methods. The methodological basis of the article include the systems approach (A.P. Tryapitsyna, A.N. Dzhurinsky), the content analysis of regulatory and strategic documents. In order to achieve the research goal, a context-competence approach (A.A. Verbitsky) and a task-based approach (A.P. Tryapitsyna, N.F. Radionova) were used. The authors applied ideas from the axiological approach (A.V. Kiryakova, G.I. Chizhakova, V. A. Yadova).
Results. The key findings of the study include the following: the analysis of the prerequisites for the strengthening of the ‘Eastern vector’ in the current system of degree-level teacher education in Russia; the substantiation of changes in preparing future teachers that contribute to the development of readiness for professional work in the dynamic multicultural environment of the region; and the presentation of the professional tasks for teachers that ensure successful working in the dynamic multicultural environment of the region, reflecting the strengthening of the ‘Eastern vector’.
Conclusions. The authors identified the specifics of preparing future teachers for professional work in the region’s new, dynamic, multicultural environment based on a foresight forecast of development trends characterized by strengthening the Eastern vector.
