Main areas applied linguistics in educational process

Abstract: 

In the article the wide definition of the notion “Applied Linguistics” is given. Applied linguistics is concerned with those spheres of the human activity, where the linguistic data and knowledge are used (or are “applied”) naming politics and sociology, psychology, communication, cultural science, manufacturing, technology, informatics, mathematics, language teaching, translation etc. One of the important directions of applied linguistics is lexicography (dictionary science), which includes and systematizes the whole human knowledge. Nowadays the linguistic disciplines (which are directions of the applied linguistics) teaching of students, who study not only the humanitarian sciences but also the technical ones, is urgent and relevant.
