Modern ways of integrating people with disabilities into mainstream society

Abstract: 

The article addresses the issue of disability, which is considered to be one of the most significant problems in contemporary world. It is noted that one of the key challenges facing society is how to provide disabled people with opportunities similar to those of healthy people.
The article outlines some current ways of integrating people with disabilities into mainstream society, describes the areas of adapted physical activity, sport and tourism, which contribute to improving physical health and adaptation of disabled people in society.
The author emphasizes the importance of physical education and sport as one of the most effective means of social integration and leisure activities of people with disabilities and special needs.
The article draws particular attention to the fact that many European countries, including Russia, implement sport programmes for disabled people, which provide them with positive experience and contribute to their holistic development.
One of the brightest examples of active integration of people with disabilities into a full social life is Paralympic Games.
In conclusion, the author emphasizes the significance of accessible environment in the development of barrier-free tourism. The process of humanization of sports work with disabled people is an important social task in contemporary world.
