Abstract:

The present article is devoted to a contrastive research of the mental structure “success-failure” in Italian and Russian language pictures, to showing of the peculiarity of its lexico-semantic representation in each of these languages, and to modeling of the mental script “success-failure”. Due to its complex nature this mental structure can be considered as an image on the one hand and as a script on the other. In this article the author tries to define the character of relationship of these parts. Thus, in the first place, we draw the ascertained complex of metaphorical images-interpritants of mental structure which can be subdivided into two types: perceptive images and images of more complex structure leading to formation of mental script of relationship between a person and success. In the second place, we ascertained basic script models and components of reconstructed mental script presented in a varying degree in both language pictures of the world. And finally, the conclusions are made about the relationship of image and script components of mental structure, its universal character and its importance to both lingual cultures.
