The concept of intellectual potential development: the main dimensions and bases within the context of lifelong education (review)
Introduction. The article investigates the development of the intellectual potential of modern society. The article aims to identify the main dimensions and bases of development of intellectual potential in the context of lifelong education.
Methodology. Methodology this study is based on analysis and generalization of scientific-research works of foreign and domestic scientists in the field of globalization, sustainable development, information and knowledge the development of modern society, philosophy of education, continuous education.
Results. Determined basic understanding invested by domestic and foreign researchers to the concept of "intellectual potential" and "intellectual culture" of modern society. The peculiarities of correlation of the concepts "intellectual capital" and "human capital" in modern studies. It is noted that in the context of continuous education intelligence must identify not just as a set of cognitive processes of a person, but to consider it as a person's ability to adapt to the environment. The concept of intellectual capital (and its components – human capital) is defined as the leading modern economic analysis, where the attention is directed, on the one hand, on the scale of the problem of the influence of human capital on the economic efficiency of a country or region, but on local issues of the impact of human capital on economic development effectiveness of the organization. In the context of both the first and the second groups of studies, the analysis of risk of development of intellectual potential. The basis for their occurrence referred the situation of rapid variability (instability) of development of modern society, in which significantly increases the need for continuous (lifelong) and is widely continuous updates (lifewide widespreadly update) human knowledge, competences and skills. The authors define features of formation of intellectual potential in a situation of continuous education.
Conclusion. Conclusions are made about the specifics of the grounds for the development of the intellectual potential in the context of lifelong education.
